Experience
Carrie found her love for dog training while working at a dog daycare/training facility in 2005. While working in the daycare, she began an internship to become a trainer and since 2007 she has been formally training. In addition to teaching, she competes with her own dog, Lola, an Australian Cattle Dog. They have received their Level One title in APDT Rally and qualifying scores in NADAC agility. Carrie also handles a Shiba Inu in AKC Rally.
Knowledge
Carrie’s techniques are derived from several different methods, pulled together to provide a fun way to build a good solid relationship between owner and dog. She focuses on people having fun with their dogs while training. Carrie has accomplished this by designing an agility foundation class that consists of games to teach reliability, focus and core-strength building.
Commitment
Carrie is a member of Association of Pet Dog Trainers and also volunteers at DuPage Animal Care and Control. She regularly attends seminars, camps and classes with her own dogs. In addition to competing with her dog Lola, Carrie is preparing one of her other dogs, Cargo, also an Australian Cattle Dog, for agility. She shares her home with four dogs in all, Lola, Cargo, Bettie an American Pit Bull Terrier, and Maia a Norwegian Lundehund.
