Experience
Emily grew up with dogs, but did not have her own until college. Since then life has never been the same. She became an active foster parent for PAWS Chicago and even joined their kennel staff for a while. From there she worked in the Animal Behavior Department at The Anti-Cruelty Society. Now she is an active dog and handler team with Safe Humane Chicago.
Knowledge
Besides gaining hands on knowledge in both shelter and class settings, Emily
makes sure to keep up her education by attending seminars with the leaders
in the field of positive reinforcement. She's also a Certified Pet Dog
Trainer. She focuses on the building the relationship between dog and owner because when the relationship is right, the pieces just fall into place.
Commitment
Emily loves to compete with her dogs and it keeps her out in the dog world. She believes that you can tell a lot about a trainer by watching how they treat their own dogs. She competes in Agility, Rally-O, and Obedience. Having been ranked nationally with multiple dogs. Her clan is made up of a 6 year old Lab named Sand, who has taught her a lot about patience and aggression, a 6 year old Foxhound mix, Bailey, a 7 year old Basset Hound, Toby, a 3 year old Lab, Kayla, and an 11 month old Basset Hound, The Dude.
