Experience
Megan became addicted to dog behavior around 10 years ago when helping a friend with his dog daycare business. She quickly immersed herself
in the field while curbing her own growing family of dogs. She launched a successful dog walking business in 1999 to further her education
in the needs of the city dog and their families. She currently has four dogs and keeps three of them on their toes with continued formal training!
Knowledge
Always believing there is more to know, Megan completed three dog training internships with at separate facilities before
formally taking cases at the Anti-Cruelty Society Behavior and Training Department in 2003. Megan has and continues to focus on reading dogs, recognizing stress and finding workable solutions to challenging behavior problems. Her work at the shelter included designing training protocols for behavior modification, creating enrichment programs for the general dog population, behavior evaluations and temperament screening.
Commitment
Megan currently trains the Pit Bull Terriers for the Bully Adoption Program at
Anti-Cruelty Society and manages the Behavior and Training Program for the Windy City Animal Foundation. In her spare time, she fosters the occasional wayward pup. She is a member of the APDT, Midwest Jack Russell Terrier Club, and a registered Cairn Terrier rescue foster parent. Megan competes in Rally Obedience, Flyball and Competition Obedience. She plans to one day compete with her 8-year old lunatic Jack Russell Terrier, Colobel Cobweb in agility. She also shares her home with Zuzu, a 9-year old Blue Heeler Mix, Myra, a 4 year-old Jack Russell Terrier, Hobo, an ancient Cairn terrier and her very dear and good humored husband.
