Curb Your Canine Classes

Puppy I
Sit. Come. Play. Pups will love learning proper social behavior and people will enjoy building a relationship where your pup learns to look to you when unsure of what to do. The pace and activities will keep your puppies' attention without overwhelming you. We teach you how to be the benevolent leader your puppy WANTS to listen to, along with handling, housebreaking, greetings, mouthing and many cues that every urban puppy must know. Class does include off-leash play.
Age: 10 weeks to 8 months

Puppy II
Fix. Prevent. Hone. This unique class is designed for Puppy I graduate only, unless approved by the instructor. Pups will enjoy play sessions and learn to respond to all cues while off leash. We will teach your older pup to "come" away from food and play, "sit", "down" and "stay" around lots of distractions and to pay attention to you while walking on leash. Due to the development of pups at this stage, new unwanted behaviors may develop and we'll replace them with acceptable ones. This class is best suited for pups between six and nine months of age and for those pups who respond the majority of the time in the classroom setting. If your pup is not ready for it, he is more than welcome to repeat Puppy I class. For older pups that did not begin their training with us we recommend the Adult I class.  Class does include off-leash play.
Age: 9 months and younger

Adult I
Come. Sit. Down. Stay. Every urban dog needs to walk nicely on leash and come when called around trucks, children, food on the ground and tons of other distracters. This class teaches you how to get your dog's attention and keep it, no matter what. We make the learning process fun for all with games, contests and tricks. All work will be done on leash and exercises will focus on maintaining your dog's attention and teaching him how to behave without always needing to be told what to do. Each class is different because our instructors truly take the time each week to design exercises for you and your dog. Even if your dog has completed Puppy I, Small Dog or another puppy class, this will still benefit him. Because the class is small, we revise exercises to meet every individual's needs.
Age: 9 months and older

Adult II
Focus. Refine. Stay. This class builds on the foundation of adult dog training classes. The focus is on building your dog's reliability to respond to you around any type of distraction. Real-life scenarios and introductory agility exercises are created to help you practice the skills you need to get and maintain your dog's attention the first time and without food. We make sure when you say 'come' your dog bolts to you, we get rock solid real-life 'leave it' with trash and food, teach fast and distance 'sits', 'downs' and 'stays' and hone advanced 'drop it', 'touch', 'let's go' and 'wait'. Weather permitting, we will do some class work outside. This class is for you if your dog responds to you most of the time in class and without food lures. Great for Adult I or Puppy II graduates!!!
Age: 1 year and older

Growl (Instructor approval required)
Lunge. Bark. Pull. This class is designed to help the leash reactive dog learn more appropriate responses around other dogs in a controlled setting. We refine attention getting exercises in the presence of dogs; teach more appropriate coping skills while leash walking and incorporate more difficult scenarios that mimick real-life situations.
Prerequisite: Must have completed private training prior to class

Agility I
Hoop. Jump. Cavaletti. This class builds a solid foundation for long-term training and agility success. Class focus is on making deposits into your relationship and teaching your dog the skills and handling so agility work is safe and fun. Games are used to reward appropriate targeting, flatwork and rear end awareness exercises. Tunnel, jumps, perch, plank, etc. introduced in week three for all dogs' comfort level. No training experience required, class is outside if weather permits.
Age: 6 months and older

Agility II
Speed. Timing. Fun. The advanced class builds on Agility I and focuses on precision and responsiveness without food lures. Because we build core strength and navigation in Agility I, more work is done on equipment in this course. Owners will truly enjoy the progress and power while maneuvering through barrels, hoops and more just using motion and body language. Must complete Agility I, instructor approval required.
Age: 6 months and older
